One for All, All for Free
September 1st, 2008 umoorIt is often argued on this blog the topics that we hold dear. It supports causes but rarely societies. Today was an exception to the rule.
As you probably know Iliad (Free's parent company) continued to struggle to acquire a 3G license.
The Iliad is a clear desire to make money "is our ambition to create an operator three, four, five, even 10 times less expensive than other" according to founder Xavier Niel Iliad. And his argument has the advantage of being simple and understandable for everyone:
For the fiber, it would take 20 billion to cover the territory with one minute to about 1 cent.
For mobile telephony, should be 1 billion (twenty times less) for one minute which is currently at 25 cents.
It's enough grease the mammoth! No?
No need to enter Niel "Obviously, one of two areas of practice price gouging."
And that the air to thrill 3 incumbents Orange / SFR / Bouygues who did not really feel that the minute mobile to be sold at a fairer price, and wish to protect at all costs their cow milk.
So as Martin Bouygues and his costume straight out of prehistory cons attack:
"I can not understand how with 1 billion euros, Iliad will be able to deploy a third generation network, so that we will invest 850 million euros this year alone"
As the deputy heard in his article Jeremi Berrebi Bouygues 0 - 1 Iliad this would he not a confession of failure of Bouygues. Bouygues, large enterprise innovation, which is preparing to launch its world exclusive secret weapon: Box ADSL ... The one good joke!
In my opinion the operators tremble as far to say that Free Free has done ...
Today the company that allowed you to have an ADSL broadband, free phone and incidentally the TV, trying to get rid of your last lines ... Not without making money, of course, but betting on the generalization of 3G in the "Mobile" ...
And if after having supported Eric Dupin against the big bad Olivier, the blogosphere woke up again to support the most innovative and most committed service provider.
It is true that the friendship Sarkozy - Martin Bouygues could weigh in the balance.
And this is not the first time I seems you!
